By yourself
If you have your own transportation; go out there and explore!! Aruba has so many beautiful sites to see.
North Coast:
Starting at the Northern Trip of the island going down the North shore; the sand dunes at the California
Lighthouse -marvoulous view-, the Alto Vista Chapel , the surfing at Wariruri, the Bushiribana Goldsmelters
ruins often referred to as the Pirate's castle, the Natural Bridge , the old coconut plantation and the
Andicuri beach (nice for bodysurfing) and the beach of Daimari. Following the coastline you'll find the
little island that's not on the map --just 50 yards from our coast in front of the beach with no name--,
Conchi or Natural Pool (only reached by 4W, horse or by hiking 30 minutes from Daimari), Dos Playa
(two beautiful beaches next to each other), the dunes of Boca Prins, the Fontein cave, the Guadirikiri cave
(the one with the hole in the roof and friendly bats), the Tunnel of Love cave (no bats).
East Coast:
Follow the arrows and you exit 10 minutes to the north at Huliba, Boca Grandi (kite-surfing) and finally on
the eastern point of the island "The Colony" at Seroe Colorado with Baby beach (nice snorkeling outside the
reef), Rogers Beach and The Coco beach Bar at Coco Beach.
Inland:
A little inland from the Natural Bridge there's the Ayo Rock formation and Andicuri. You'll find the Arikok
National Park with the Mount Yamanota (617' beautiful view) from just east of St.Cruz towards the north
shore ----this whole area is just beautiful to hike through and a whole stretch of Aruba's north shore is
part of this park and can only be reached by hiking through the park or along the coast south from the
Natural Pool and north from Dos Playa; you'll see pretty much unseen territory ----. The Frenchman's
pass and the Balashi Goldsmelters ruins on the way from PosChiquito to St.Cruz; the Hooiberg or Haystack
mountain in the middle of the island with steps to the top offers a beautiful view of the entire island &
the ocean around and the Casibari Rock Formations (a smaller version of Ayo) near Paradera.
South Coast:
And we didn't even mention anything that's along the south shore. There you'll find the towns of 'San Nicolas',
an old Creole town which used to be Aruba's capital for a long time; 'Savaneta', a quaint fishing village;
nice snorkeling spots; the historical buildings in Oranjestad; beautiful beaches (Punta Brava, Eagle Beach)
and the bird sanctuary - home to different species of birds -between the Boulevard and the ocean near The
Mill Resort-; a must-see for bird lovers!!
