Surfing
There's some surfing on the island at Wariruri, a little bay about 3.5 km. south of the Alto Vista Chapel on
the North Shore. Waves are wind generated, it's a beach break, so no perfect surf but still a lot of fun.
During the hurricane season and throughout the winter months we can get some good swell, and the spot to
surf then is the reef at Arashi by the lighthouse. This is a reef break and when it's going off there's nice
lefts and rights. There are a few surf shops that sell boards, but there are no surfboards rentals on the
island.
Windsurfing and Kitesurfing
Aruba is rated one of the top locations in the world for windsurfing. Whether you are just learning to sail,
or can rip with the best, Aruba is a windsurfer's dream. Crystal clear waist-deep waters and consistent wind are
about as close to ideal as you get can. There are several Wind- and Kitesurf centers on the island. We work together
with the Vela Windsurf Center located right on the beach at the Marriott Resort; 150 yards from The Boardwalk.
The Wind- and Kitesurf center's College offers instruction for all levels, and special beginner packages. Vela sets
the standard for all other centers on the island with its extensive fleet of new Starboard and JP Australia boards,
Neil Pryde sails and new Cabrinha kites and boards, all rigged and ready to go and just steps from the water at
Aruba's most ideal windsurfing spot Fisherman's Huts.

Scuba Diving
There's quite a number of dive operators on the island, but our dive center of choice is S.E.Aruba Fly 'n Dive.
Aruba, with its crystal clear waters, offers some great dive sites to visit. It is known for its many wrecks and the
largest historical wreck of the whole Caribbean can be found here! As the wreck has been under water for quite
some time now, you can also enjoy a large variety of corals and marine life.
The reef goes from Oranjestad all the way to Babybeach and every site has its own charm. S.E.Aruba Fly 'n Dive
can take you there. They have a boat going out every day to the different spots around the island.
Never dove before, but you want to try it? You may check with us at the frontdesk and ask about the free swimming pool session
that can be arranged for you. After this you can go for a scuba introduction dive in the open water or sign up for
your PADI open water course.
This Dutch dive center has been operating on Aruba for more than 13 years now and their international crew can
teach you up to assistant instructor and show you the best places. You will definitely be in good hands!
They also offer nitrox diving.
The flying part of this dive centre will take you to Bonaire or Curaçao for dive trips or for swimming
with dolphins.
You can visit their website at www.searuba.com
or contact them at searuba.fly.n.dive@setarnet.aw

Deep Sea Fishing
Bring in the "Catch of the Day"! There are many charter boats available for half a day or a full day of
deep-sea fishing. The trip is including drinks,
tackle, bait and knowledgeable captain and crew. Captain Peter from
'Mahi Mahi' and Captain Peter from
'Merlina' seems to be very good ones to go with. When not out fishing both captains and their boats are
usually found at Seaport Marine or at the Hadicurari pier that's located between the Marriott & the Holiday Inn.
The Palm Island
Here you'll find nice coral reef formations and marine life. This private island paradise is a 'must see'
while on Aruba. A smooth ferry ride (9:00am and 1:00pm) from the mainland takes you to your 'vacation paradise'.
Swim, snorkel, take a walk on the ocean floor without getting your face or hair wet with SEA TREK or try SNUBA
(= SNorkling & scUBA diving) exclusively featured on De Palm Island. The difference between Scuba and Snuba
diving is the loss of the heavy weight air tank you usually carry on your back during the dive. You are
connected on air tanks floating on the surface; that is why you only can dive to a max.depth of 8 meters
below the surface. Tempt your palate with freshly prepared island cuisine and try their frozen cocktails;
just to name some of the features of the all-inclusive program.
Blue Parrotfish Water Slide Park... NOW OPEN!
They have gone all the way to satisfy every member of your family. Their state-of-the art Blue Parrotfish water park
will have adrenaline-pumping slides for every age: fast, medium, slow, you choose the level of speed.
The options are endless! There’s no excuse to stay dry. Their shallow pool for the youngest ones has more than
70 fun-filled water attractions: net climbers, crawl tunnels, spinning trays, guns, bubbler jets! You name it
they have it. Blue Parrotfish Water Park is just pure fun. So grab your towel and some suntan lotion and have
a great time!
Seaworld Explorer
This is the world's first semi-submarine; the explorer does not dive down but stays on the surface, you
are seated in an underwater observatory beneath the explorer where you remain in open air. Goes to shallower
reefs where you pass through beautiful coral formations, and to the Antillea, the famous German shipwreck
sunk during W.W.II. Operating Monday through Sunday, 3 times a day; 9.30 / 11.30 / 01.30, and will take
about 1,5 hour. For more information and reservations you may check with us at the front desk.
